Happy New School Year!

EAGLE will be meeting at Celebration Church on 19th Street West in Huntington beginning September 7.  We have had some complications and suffered a couple of setbacks that have been discouraging, but we will manage.  For the next three months (Sept through Nov) we will meet at Celebration Chruch  This will give us time to work out other options for something more permanent.

The church has generously offered the use of their building at no charge.  To compensate them, we are asking for a can of Lysol (nursery) or some TP for the church to add to their supplies.  They also run a large ministry that benefits 70 to 110 low-income families each month.  We asked about the needs of their ministry and were told that personal items such as soap, shampoo, feminine products, TP, ect. are desperately needed.  Canned food is another item that they really need.  Some of their canned goods come from USDA, but they have to purchase other items from local food banks.  If you have extra canned goods or nonperishable items that you aren't going to use - you know, those foods that you bought and don't know what to do with now - please consider donating them.

Directions:  Use Exit 5 off I-64.  Take the first exit into Huntington.  From the exit ramp, turn left onto Madison Avenue.  At the first light, turn right onto 19th Street West.  The church is immediately visible.  It is in the old Jefferson Elementary School.

Our Purpose:

  • To provide all homeschooled children with the opportunity to participate with others in group settings, thereby taking advantage of each other's strengths and experiences.
  • To enable homeschooling families to form supportive relationships with other homeschoolers.

All students from West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky are welcome regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin,  or homeschooling program

Funding for E.A.G.L.E made possible in part by a grant from WVHEA.
Thank you!

Our vision for this program is to become a one stop shop for the majority of the activities that are happening throughout our area.  Right now we have Project Day, Science Club, T.H.E.M.E. Band, Spanish Classes, 4H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and many others all meeting on different days of the week, different times, and different places.  We're spending more time away from homeschool than IN HOMESCHOOL!!!
Wouldn't it be nice if all these things happened on the same day, in the same place?  Wouldn't it be great to be able to commit the rest of our weeks to only educating and nurturing our kids?  That was the whole idea in the first place right?!!
